Terms of Use (RentSnap)

Acceptance of Terms

By downloading or using RentSnap (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App. These terms form a legal agreement between you and Dominic Aumann (“we”, “us”).

What the App Does

RentSnap is a personal documentation tool that helps renters photograph and record the condition of a rental property. It generates PDF reports containing your photos, room notes, meter readings, and tenancy dates for your personal records.

Not Legal Advice

The App is a documentation aid, not a legal service. Nothing in the App or its generated reports constitutes legal advice. We make no guarantee that:

• A landlord, letting agent, or deposit scheme adjudicator will accept or act upon a RentSnap report.
• Use of the App will result in recovery of your deposit or any part of it.
• Reports generated by the App meet any specific legal or evidential standard required by a court or tenancy deposit scheme.

If you are in a dispute, we recommend seeking independent legal advice.

Subscription & Free Trial

RentSnap Pro is offered on a subscription basis with the following terms:

• Free Trial — A 7-day free trial is available to new subscribers. No charge is made during the trial period. You may cancel before the trial ends to avoid any charge.
• Pricing — Monthly plan: £3.99 per month. Annual plan: £24.99 per year (approximately £2.08 per month).
• Auto-renewal — Subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Your Apple ID account will be charged within 24 hours before the renewal date.
• Cancellation — You may cancel at any time in the App Store: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions, or via Settings → RentSnap Pro → Manage in App Store within the App. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period; no partial refunds are provided.
• Refunds — All refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their App Store refund policy. We have no ability to process refunds directly.
• Free tier — Without a subscription, you may add and document one property. Subscribing unlocks unlimited properties and all features.

Your Content

Photos, notes, and data you create in the App belong to you. We do not access, copy, or claim any rights over your content. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to photograph the property (e.g. you are a lawful tenant or have permission from the occupant).

Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the App to:

• Create false or fabricated evidence for use in fraudulent claims.
• Photograph any property without lawful right or permission to do so.
• Violate any applicable law or regulation.

We reserve the right to terminate access to the App (including subscription features) if we become aware of misuse, without refund.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without any warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses.
• Reports generated will be accepted as evidence by any third party.
• The App will be available at any particular time.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of deposit monies, loss of data, or loss of profits, arising from your use of or inability to use the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the App shall not exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Intellectual Property

All content, design, code, and branding within the App (excluding your own photos and notes) is owned by or licensed to us. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the App without our prior written consent.

Third-Party Services

The App is distributed through the Apple App Store and is subject to Apple’s terms and conditions. Apple is not a party to these Terms of Use and bears no responsibility for the App or its content. In-app purchases are governed by Apple’s standard end-user licence agreement (EULA).

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via an in-app notice or by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time if you breach these terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Termination does not entitle you to a refund of any subscription fees already paid.

Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms of Use are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from or relating to these terms or the App shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
