ROADILO LEGAL
Terms of Service (Roadilo)
1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Roadilo ("the App," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Description of Service
Roadilo is an iOS application that helps users manage their vehicles. It allows you to store vehicle details, track MOT and insurance deadlines, maintain service and repair histories, log fuel fills, record GPS trips, and monitor running costs. The App queries the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service via a server proxy to auto-fill vehicle details from a UK registration plate. The App is available in a free (ad-supported) tier and a Pro subscription tier.
3. Eligibility
- You must be at least 17 years old to use Roadilo (in line with Apple App Store age requirements for apps with location access).
- By using the App you confirm that you meet this requirement.
- If you are under 18, you should have parental or guardian consent.
4. License
We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use Roadilo on your Apple device solely for personal, non-commercial purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicence any part of the App.
5. DVLA Data & Lookup Service
- Vehicle information retrieved via DVLA lookup is sourced from publicly available government records and is provided for informational purposes only.
- We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of data returned by the DVLA API. Always verify important vehicle information (MOT status, tax status) through official DVLA channels at gov.uk/check-mot-status.
- The DVLA lookup feature requires an internet connection. We are not responsible for unavailability caused by DVLA API downtime or changes to the DVLA service.
6. Location Access & Trip Recording
- Roadilo requests location permission (including background location) to record driving trips via GPS.
- You are responsible for ensuring it is legal and safe to use the trip recording feature in your jurisdiction. Do not interact with the App while driving.
- Trip data is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to us. Deleting the App removes all trip records.
7. Subscriptions & In-App Purchases
- Free Tier: The App is free to download and use with advertising shown via Google AdMob.
- Roadilo Pro: A paid subscription that removes ads and unlocks additional features. Subscriptions are managed by Apple through the App Store.
- Billing: Subscription fees are charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase and at the start of each renewal period.
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Refunds: All refund requests are handled by Apple in accordance with their App Store policies.
- Free Trials: Where offered, free trials convert automatically to a paid subscription unless cancelled before the trial ends.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use Roadilo for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
- Use the DVLA lookup feature to query vehicles you do not own or have a legitimate interest in (e.g., for the purpose of tracking or surveilling individuals).
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App or its backend systems.
- Use the App in any way that could damage, disable, or impair its functionality or the DVLA API service.
- Interact with the App while driving a vehicle.
9. Disclaimer Regarding Vehicle Data
Roadilo is a personal vehicle management tool only. It is not a substitute for official DVLA records. MOT status, tax status, and other vehicle details shown in the App are retrieved from DVLA data and are provided for convenience only. Always verify the legal status of your vehicle through official government sources before driving. We are not liable for any legal consequences arising from reliance on data shown in the App.
10. Intellectual Property
All content, branding, design, and code within Roadilo are owned by DomCreator / domcreator.co.uk or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms transfers any intellectual property rights to you. Data you enter into the App (vehicle records, trip routes, photos) remains yours.
11. Third-Party Services
Roadilo integrates with the DVLA Vehicle Enquiry Service (via our proxy), Google AdMob (advertising on free tier), and Apple Core Location (GPS trip recording). By using the App, you acknowledge that these services are governed by their own terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of third-party services.
12. Disclaimer of Warranties
Roadilo is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that vehicle data retrieved from DVLA will be accurate or up to date. Use of the App is at your own risk.
13. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, DomCreator / domcreator.co.uk shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use Roadilo, including any loss of vehicle records resulting from deletion of the App or device failure, or any consequences arising from reliance on DVLA data shown in the App.
14. Privacy
Your use of Roadilo is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
15. Modifications to the Service or Terms
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue Roadilo at any time without notice. We may also update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
16. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to Roadilo at our sole discretion if you breach these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstalling permanently removes all locally stored data.
17. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
